Monday 4 November 2013

Hey! It has been a really good and busy weekend filled with lots of wonderful music moments. On Friday night i performed at Grosvenor House once again with Star band for Slaughter & May which was a fantastic event. The Great Room is the biggest ballroom in Europe and it was a real honour for me to play there, it has always been a dream of mine to perform at this hotel. On Saturday night i performed with the MR H Showband, a DJ Live Showband based in hertfordshire. Earlier on this month we also performed on the
TV show Come Dine With Me which was a brilliant experience! The gig was fantastic on Saturday, we played mainly house music and the crowd partied all night. On Sunday the Band also performed at Hatfield House at a Wedding Bridal Fashion show, it was a struggle to find my voice on Sunday morning but i got through it and now am having a BIG cup of tea to recover!
Next week i am taking some time off to write some original music with friends in Bristol and then recording this later on in November, it shall be released online around Christmas time.
This Wednesday i have a gig at the Hard Rock Cafe in London, i can't wait! Not only do we get a free meal (BURGER and CHIPS YEAH!) but i am playing with an awesome bunch or musicians and the guests are going to get up and sing with us - really looking forward to this gig.
It is very busy in the swaby world at the moment but i am slowly getting back into what i love and that is writing and recording my own music. Today and tomorrow i have some time off so it will all be spent with my guitar in hand finalising the last few chords of this new song "Heart To Keep"
Have a great week everyone! :)
Peace xxx

Sing a little song

Oh man i am sorry i have been so lazy on my blog! Life has just been so crazy.

In the last two months i have been over the the States, Ireland and now i am off to Scotland for a gig
tomorrow night.

Little sleep but lots of junk food and fun and most importantly music!

I had some spare time back home to do a few cover videos whilst working on my original stuff in the studio. i know i am making you wait and i am so sorry but i want this to be just perfect and i promise it will be worth it.

My new covers are an acoustic session i did with two great friends, they are fab musicians and i hope you like our versions of Take Care, Standing in the dark and Waking up in Vegas.

I am also having singing lessons! I am so excited about this. I decided that i needed to get some training to help my voice grow and i think there are always things you can learn so i have started a vocal training programme with Phebe Edwards.

She is the most amazing singer and vocal coach, she has been around the world with James Brown, Jessie J, Adele and many more. I feel very lucky to be having lessons from someone so good.

Anyway just a quick update... more coming soon!

Lead us there..... It has started!

What a beautiful week! WOW the weather has just been incredible, i hope you're all out there enjoying the sunshine and having fun.

I haven't been able to see much of the sunshine because i have been in the studio recording and writing new songs - which is seriously exciting. I LOVE it!

Been in the studio doing live versions/filming of two of my new songs...

You can check them out on my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/chloeswaby1

So i have made two serious errors today. Oh dear! Firstly because i haven't been able to see much sunshine i thought i would take it upon myself to tan hahaha - so i applied a little bit of fake tan and somehow managed to miss my face (of course tanning the face you have to have your eyes closed) i misjudged the tanning area completely and ended up spraying my chest and have given myself some seriously sweet tan lines! Proud of myself for that one!

My second fail today was going to Tesco with a tiara on! What was i thinking?! I found it in my room so popped it on and thought it would help me be productive, lots of people were looking at me in Tesco, i headed home only to find the tiara still on my head!

I had my first session on Lead us there....boy am i excited! This seriously awesome drummer Bernie laid down the drum beats and they are sounding amazing. Charlie has seriously worked his magic with this track. I hope most of you will be happy that i have gone back to some big band sounds, lots of drums, guitars and energy!

I have always day dreamed about performing this song on children in need and i really hope one day that this dream comes true. It is a very very special song and so i am taking a long time to produce and write the script for the video as it is so important for me to get this right.

Beth and I are heading into the studio on Thursday to lay down the first vocals for the track. We are filming the whole process so you can see exactly how lead us there developed into a produced song and how much fun we have in the studio.

Lots of lovely things coming up in Easter so keep updated on Facebook :)

I am really excited to be having a vocal session from Pro Greens Female vocalist - Katie Holmes, she is incredible and i am very lucky to be going to vocal coaching with such an awesome girl and singer.

Anyway just a quick update,
I hope you've all had a good week.
Easter soon - we can all pig out on chocolate! YEAH!

Big Love all round,

Chlo xx

Studying...no... singing... YEAHHH!

Hello lovely people!

Thank you for supporting me over the past few months, you have all been amazing.
I am back now and ready to rock and roll!

I am working really hard in the studio at the moment writing and producing new songs and sounds. It is very exciting! I just love music so much (in case you didn't know already!) i love writing new material, especially now the sun is coming out! Yay!

At the same time as working on new stuff I am recording and releasing new videos every 10 days of songs that i love at the moment.

The first Cover Video in case you missed it was Katy Perry - The one that got away.
My awesome pianist Dan Jones created such a beautiful piano part for this track, thank you!

I hope you all like our version - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz-X5P1DzFo

The second Video we recorded last week. As many of you know i love Jessie J - i decided to cover Domino but do an acoustic stripped down version of the song, i hope you like it. Beth Peach-robinson is just unreal, her harmonies on this video are awesome, she always works so hard and i would be lost without her.

I have something VERY exciting coming up. I will be at the half way point of the London Marathon 2012! I did this event last year and it was such an awesome day, i saw some crazy costumes and thousands of people running through the streets of London. I will take lots of photos and videos to show you all! Let me know if you're running it. I will give you a big wave and shout out from the stage!

So many things coming up this summer! Thank you for all supporting me and for sharing my music with your friends and everyone you know! Domino hit 1000 views in just two days!

You can watch it here - http://youtu.be/0g2iBpzWdkk

Sadly at the same time as working in the studio i am also stuck in my books! (BORING) I am nearing the end of my university life and so i am focusing (trying) on my studies for the next few weeks but that is only maybe reading for one more hour than i used too haha.

I have given up alcohol for lent - keep telling myself i am carrying a little extra weight from christmas but then realised christmas was 3 months ago whoops!

Fingers crossed i make it out of uni alive and with a degree.

I am so ready for June 2012! I am SO READY! cannot wait to get out and meet all of my lovely fans, i will be heading all over the country every weekend to busk and gig all over and hopefully head into some of your schools on my school tour.

Also i know lots of my lovely fans are in Cardiff watching Westlife this summer so i will be in and around town gigging so come and say hello!

Anyway that is enough blab for now.
Hope you're all happy and loving life!
Take care of yourselves,
get out the legs and the sunglasses as summer is on the way! Wohooo

Roll on Summer 2012

Lots of Love and Cuddles,

Cardiff - DUBLIN - London

WOW what a week!
6am wake up Saturday 3rd of December, hair and make up done by 8am - It was time to shoot the first scene for the video! I am not going to give too much away about the video but we had an incredible weekend filming all over Cardiff including the beach at night time which was SO cold. Hats off to all the amazing actors and crew who stood out in the cold for hours. I had an incredible team around me and i am extremely grateful to everyone who took part because they worked so hard!

I needed lots of chocolate to get me through the weekend, i had a gig in London on Saturday night which was awesome however I managed to get locked out of my house so slept in my car! Classic! I then saw 5.30am for the first time ever when i started the drive back to Cardiff for day two filming. I spent the day filming in and around town with my beautiful friends Beth and Edd, we even had a cheeky van chaud to warm us up! We had a blast filming and i hope that you all enjoy the video. It will be out in a month or so, it is very energetic, romantic and filled with fun! I cannot wait for you to see it.

No rest for the wicked! Wednesday I ventured back to London in time for our flight on Thursday morning to Dublin. You won't believe how brave i was that day, i went out ALIEN eyes! haha no mascara all the way to Dublin, i scared a few people on the way but 5.30am is not a time for make up. We had hundreds of CD's ready for the trip as the lucky people at the gig got a hard copy of the single a day early! The flight was just awful, i hate flying anyway but this flight was particularly bad, Beth and i genuinely thought we were going to crash on landing! We distracted ourselves by signing all the CD's on the flight and getting hyper on sweets - hmmmm they were yummy!

We made it to Dublin and WOW what a place! It is so awesome, i literally couldn't understand a word anyone was saying but they are all so jolly! The city is amazing, i really recommend heading over there for a visit. We found a lovely Irish pub and had traditional Irish food and a nice cup of tea to warm us up. We definitely didn't spend an hour in the Disney shop on the way to sound check and we definitely didn't contemplate buying princess dresses to wear on stage.

We soundchecked (the sound system was amazing and the sound guys were so cute with their little irish accents) and then waited for Sharon to arrive, it was so beautiful to see her! She is looking AMAZING and boy can the girl sing! We had a giggle and a catch up and then i left her to prepare for her big night.

We headed out to find a nice place to eat. Now i cannot lie, we did try and get into lots of restaurants but some how we ended up in Burger king - considering i haven't had fast food in months, i was actually very glad we had 'somehow' ended up in Burger king. It was magical!

Show time! 9.30pm i peeped round the corner to see lots of lovely faces :) I couldn't wait to get on stage.
I loved performing, the gig went really well and i loved doing an acoustic set for you guys.
Shaz rocked it as always and Leigh, Shaz and I had a little sing song together at the end 'We found Love'.

Thank you SO much to Shaz for having us as her support act, i absolutely loved it and just having the opportunity to support someone so talented and so lovely was a pleasure. I hope we stay friends for a long time, she literally makes me laugh so much! I cannot wait for round two here in London on the 26th of January, i hope to see lots of you lovely people there.

It was lovely to meet and catch up with lots of you that night, i hope i get to meet all my fans one day. A young girl at the gig told me that my music inspired her and this made my trip, it was such a beautiful thing to say to me, thank you. I met some fab people from the beauty team and some of shaz family, all in all it was a brilliant night.

Friday morning came as a shock and soon we were back in swaby land and mummy swaby took us for a fry up! What a babe! She knows me too well :). Poor Beth powered through the trip with a nasty chest infection but you will be glad to know she is on the mend, she is hard core! Love her.

OMG the single was out the next day. Where had the time gone?!
I tried to play it cool by not talking about it too much but i seemed to slip it into conversation with everyone that day :) whoops - i was just too excited!

12pm Saturday the 10th of December " I'm still young " was released .
It was such a special day for me. The song is OUT NOW for free download.

http://www.facebook.com/cjswaby?sk=app_129982580378550

I have had so much support from my family, friends and lovely fans. The single release is going so well, we are well over 500 downloads in just 3 days. You have all been so supportive and given me so much love, i received lots of lovely christmas cards and fan mail. You guys spoil me but i am so thankful for everything you do for me and i am so glad that you like the single.

The plan is to now publish the music video and then gig! YAY i have missed performing live because of all the production and recording but i cannot wait to start up again!

Remember 26TH JANUARY LONDON - don't miss out. I promise it will be an amazing night.

Roll on the next few weeks and CHRISTMAS DAY!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very very happy new year to you all.
Thank you for reading and keeping updated.

Lots of Love and cuddles,
Chloe xx

MUSIC VIDEO PICTURES

Here are a few pictures from behind the scenes at the music videos shoot - i will do a proper post when the video is released! It was such an exciting weekend - not going to lie - the beach in Wales at 12am is not the warmest place in the world but we had a blast! Thank you to everyone involved. Big love xx
