Karen Millen Fashion Show gig in aid of TeensUnite x

Hey Everyone!

WOW what an incredible two weeks it has been! We finally finished the acoustic music video which you can check out here below. It has had nearly 1000 views in just over a week - thank you so much for your support!

Last weekend the Band and I had a road trip back to London - I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends I have ever had! It was a bit of a mission getting our kit through London on the tube but with a cheeky Mcdonalds to keep us going and a sing song on the tube the late night train goers got a little more than they expected from the journey :). We got home around 1am and crashed out ready for our big day on Saturday!

A full fry up by James Deacon (Guitarist) went down very nicely! We were fed and ready to go, after collecting the Drum kit from GIG Gear we headed to the Broxbourne Civic Hall for our Soundcheck and run through. The technicians were very helpful however our soundcheck was hmmmm lets just say it didn't go to plan! We only had 20 minutes to soundcheck so we went away worrying about the night ahead. The room looked beautiful and the ladies from Teensunite had done a fantastic job in organising everything.

We decided to go home and sleep! We couldn't help but feel nervous - who wouldn't be nervous when you know you are going to be performing in front of Karen Millen, Kevin Adams, the Mayor and Gillian taylforth! After a nice sleep we had a lovely shepherds pie cooked by Glenn Swaby. After the boys spent a few hours shouting about the 6 nations Rugby it was time to get ready for the big night. I even felt nervous about what to wear - i went for the classic jump suit look with my favourite bright purple heels!

We had a quick acoustic run through before we left and then all bundled into my little car and headed to the gig. The boys were looking very swish in their smart shirts. The blood was pumping, the 10 minute journey to the venue was deadly silent - we were in the zone! After Karen Millen and Teensunite gave a beautiful speech the event started. Things were kicked off by the Shaloin Warriors from Britains got Talent and Fusion Dance School. Dinner was served and the lovely Roxy searle aged 16 sang two songs to get the crowd going.

We stood backstage waiting for the call 'guys you're on'. KevinAdams approached us back stage singing and dancing to us which was simply wonderful, he calmed our nerves and told us we had 15 minutes before show time. We then relaxed and chilled out back stage with a few jokes until 2 minutes later Kevin Adams said ' please welcome Chloe Swaby and her Band!' ahhh the curtains started to open and we ran onto stage! It was hilarious. The lights came up and we were met with hundreds of smiling faces. It honestly felt like playing at Wembley haha ok maybe not but it definitely gave us a little taste of what big concerts are like. We were cheered on bythe mayorand Karen Millens table. We had 20 minutes on stage, we kicked the gig off with Racing Car and went on to play stay mine and lead us there with covers of Wonderful world by James Morrison and California Girls by Katy Perry.

The Band were absolutely incredible, i cannot thank the boys enough for their hard work. The feeling of standing on that stage being able to sing in front of those people for such an incredible cause was one of the best moments of my life. The response we got was incredible and i am so thankful to Kerri Salsbury for organising the event.

TeensUnite was founded by Karen Millen and Debbie Pezzani. Their aim is to help young people who are fighting cancer, build on their self esteem, self confidence and to reduce the feeling of isolation, realising that others are facing similar challenges. Karen and Debbie along with their fantastic team change lives. What they do is so selfless and inspiring it was an honour to be part of such an amazing fundraising event. Please support the charity, they really are wonderful people.

We didn't want the evening to ever end, we had such an awesome time. We even got to meet Karen Millen and Kevin Adams, we are sooo lucky! Thank you to everyone who came along to support.

Love, Give, Enjoy life :)

Best Wishes,
Chloe x
